And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You! So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
(2 Chronicles 14:11-12, NKJV)
King Asa followed the Lord, and led his nation to do the same. Asa also strengthened fortifications and the military of his kingdom. He had over 500,000 troops trained and ready for battle.
Ethiopia attacked Judah with an army of over one million. Asa was greatly outnumbered. He cried out to God for help. God heard the prayer of this righteous king.
Walk with God.
Asa knew God, and knew that God was willing and able to help. He knew God because he lived for God, and experienced His presence in his life. He was confident that God would help him.
Sometimes people have no relationship with God; God is not a part of their lives. Then, when trouble comes, they blame God. Why should God bless someone, who has nothing to do with Him?
Talk with God.
Asa prayed and asked for help. God helped him. Sometimes, God doesn't act because we fail to ask Him. It is easier to pray when we have a habit of praying. God wants us to ask Him to meet our needs. Maintain a clear connection with God through regular prayer.
When we walk with God and talk with God, we will see Him do great things in our lives.
