The tomb of Cyrus
The tomb of Cyrus

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying, “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah.”

(Ezra 1:1-2, NKJV)

After seventy years in exile, Cyrus, King of Persia, receives a command from God to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Cyrus was a pagan king, yet God spoke to him and he listened.

God is King over all of His creation, and active in it.

God created all things. He rules over all things. He plays an active role in the universe.

We should trust God because He is our Creator. He made everything and established the laws by which the universe operates.

We should trust God because He rules over all creation. He is in control.

We should trust God because He plays an active role in the universe. He did not create everything and then sit back to see how it will turn out. He is actively working in the world around us.

There is nothing He cannot do to rescue His people.

There are no impossible situations with God. Although the situation may seem impossible to us. Nothing is impossible with Him. He is able to do anything that is necessary to rescue His people. In fact, He has already taken steps to do so. We should trust Him.

Are you trusting Him?
