CLEANSING THE TEMPLE

Then the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord to cleanse it… and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule of the Lord. So they sanctified the house of the Lord… Then they went in to King Hezekiah and said, “We have cleansed all the house of the Lord…

(2 Chronicles 29:16-18, NKJV)

King Hezekiah commanded the priests and Levites to cleanse the Temple and prepare it for service. They started in the inner chamber and worked their way out until the entire Temple was done.

Revival begins in the heart and works its way to our hands.

The way we think and view the world around us determines how we behave. True change on behavior requires a change of heart. Jesus Christ brings that kind of change. When we trust Him as our Lord and Savior, He gives us a new heart. As we grow in our faith, He systematically transforms us from the inside out.

Submit your heart to God, confess your sins to God and repent, before you set your hands to His work.

As believers, Jesus is in our hearts. The challenge is to submit to His control, to allow His transforming work in our lives. Believers must regularly confess their sins to God and repent, not to stay saved (that was settled once for all by Christ's sacrifice on the cross), but to maintain our fellowship with God and remove any obstacles to His work in us.

Make sure your Temple is prepared for the Lord's service.
