PREPARING OUR PATH

So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways

before the Lord his God

(2 Chronicles 27:6, NKJV)

God made King Jotham strong because he was faithful. He lived in God’s presence. God is always present and in control. But we don’t always recognize that. Jotham recognized God’s presence and power; and he ordered his life accordingly.

Recognize God’s presence and power.

God is always present. He is always in control. As we make plans and decisions, the goal is not to get God to approve our agenda, but to discover what is God's agenda and adjust our plans to match. Through spiritual disciplines such as prayer and Bible study we begin to understand God's agenda better, and become better able to sense His guidance and direction in our lives. As we follow His guidance, we experience His work in our lives.

Walk in His ways.

Of course, this all hinges on our obedience to God. We must follow the guidance God provides. We we are faithful with one step, God will show us the next.
