REDEEMED

Have you ever owed a debt you could not pay? It is a terrible feeling to know you will never be able to pay the debt and the debt collectors will be calling. How great it is for someone to pay your debt and relieve you of that burden. That is exactly what God has done for us, through Jesus Christ, His Son.
Many passages reference this redemption. One passage is Psalm 49:15. Embedded in a psalm of the Sons of Korah (a division of the ancient priests of the Temple) which primarily speaks of the folly of the wicked, we find a small reference God's redemption.
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave,
For He shall receive me.
(Psalm 49:15, NKJV)
Those who trust in Jesus are redeemed; their sins are paid for by the blood of Jesus.
They are received into God’s family and fellowship.
The Old Testament writers looked forward to the coming of the Messiah, to redeem mankind from sin and death. The New Testament records the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose again. All who turn from their sins and trust Jesus are forgiven - redeemed. The penalty for sin is paid for by the blood of Jesus. They are made children of God and received as part of His family. As a child of God, they have access to God in prayer at all times.
Have you been redeemed? If not, trust Jesus today!
