And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place. But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy. Therefore He brought against them the king of the Chaldeans…And those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon…
(2 Chronicles 36:15-17, 20; NKJV)
After many years of wickedness and numerous warnings, God punished His people by sending them into exile in Babylon.
God loves us too much to allow us to continue to live in sin.
Sin enslaves us. Sin destroys us. Sin separates us from God. God loves us and desires a close relationship with us. That cannot happen as long as we are living in sin. Therefore, God will do what is necessary to pull us out of our sin, even if it involves discipline. His motivation is love for us.
If we fail to heed His warnings, we will experience His wrath.
God gives us numerous warnings about sin. The Bible is filled with teachings and examples that warn us about sin's terrible consequences. Even our own consciences warn us when we are doing wrong. If we heed God's warnings and repent, God is faithful to restore us. If we fail to heed His warnings, we will experience His wrath - the just punishment for our sins.
Will you repent of your sins and follow Him?
